Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 25 October 2026

I.Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Scoutsity website, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please discontinue the use of our services immediately.

II.The Nature of Our Service

Scoutsity is an independent digital platform dedicated to event discovery, professional networking, and connecting users with local service providers. We provide information as an intermediary. We do not provide, manage, or control the events or services advertised on our platform.

III.Early Access Phase

Scoutsity is currently in an Early Access (Beta) phase. While we strive for excellence, users acknowledge that the platform may occasionally experience technical downtime or feature adjustments. We are committed to constant improvement and value user feedback in refining the Scoutsity experience.

IV.Agreements with Verified Vendors & Service Providers

Independent Contractors. All service providers, vendors, and professionals listed on Scoutsity operate as independent contractors. There is no employer-employee relationship between Scoutsity and these providers.

Commission Model. By accepting a gig lead, project opportunity, or professional engagement through the Scoutsity platform, verified vendors agree to a 10% service fee on the total contract value, payable to Scoutsity upon successful completion of the project or engagement.

Service Quality. Scoutsity is not responsible for the quality, delivery, or dispute resolution between event organizers and service providers. We serve as the bridge; the contract and execution remain between the two parties.

V.User Conduct

Users and organizers are strictly prohibited from:

  • Providing misleading or fraudulent event information.
  • Using automated scripts to scrape platform data.
  • Engaging in spam or non-human interaction that disrupts the community experience.

Scoutsity reserves the right to terminate accounts that violate these standards of integrity.

VI.Limitation of Liability

6.1 ScoutSity provides the platform “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScoutSity, its founders, employees and agents are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or any loss of profit, revenue, data or opportunity, arising from your use of ScoutSity or from any event, competition, service or Organiser listed on it.

6.2 To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScoutSity’s total liability to you for any claim arising from a transaction is limited to the fees ScoutSity actually received from that transaction.

6.3 Nothing in this Section limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by ScoutSity’s negligence.

VII.Dispute Resolution & Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising from the use of this platform shall be settled through mediation or appropriate legal channels within the jurisdiction of the event or service location.

VIII.Payments and ScoutSity’s role

8.1 Who you are buying from. When you buy a ticket, registration, paid vote, entry or any other paid item for an event, competition or service listed on ScoutSity (a “Paid Item”), you are buying it from the organiser who listed it (the “Organiser”), not from ScoutSity. Your contract for that event, competition or service is with the Organiser.

8.2 Limited payment collection agent. ScoutSity, through its licensed payment partners (such as Paystack), acts only as the Organiser’s limited agent for the purpose of collecting payment for Paid Items and crediting it, less ScoutSity’s fees, to the Organiser’s ScoutSity wallet. ScoutSity does not hold itself out as the seller, host, producer or operator of any event or competition.

8.3 Payment to ScoutSity is payment to the Organiser. Once your payment for a Paid Item is successfully received by ScoutSity or its payment partner, it is treated as received by the Organiser, and your obligation to pay the Organiser for that Paid Item is fully discharged.

8.4 ScoutSity’s fees. ScoutSity’s fees, and any payment-processing charges shown to you, are charged for the use of the platform and for processing the payment. They are not refundable, except where ScoutSity made an error in processing your payment or where the law requires a refund.

IX.Cancellations, postponements and refunds

9.1 The Organiser is responsible for refunds. Each Organiser sets its own refund policy. The Organiser alone is responsible for deciding whether a refund is due and for paying it, including where an event or competition is cancelled, postponed, moved, materially changed, not held as advertised, or a Paid Item is not delivered. ScoutSity is not responsible for refunds.

9.1A How much is refunded, and where it goes. A refund paid through ScoutSity is the amount the Organiser received for the Paid Item: what you paid, minus ScoutSity’s fee and any payment-processing charge, which ScoutSity does not refund (see 8.4). For example, if you paid ₦102 (a ₦100 entry plus a ₦2 Paystack charge) and ScoutSity’s fee was ₦4, your refund is ₦96. Refunds are credited to your ScoutSity wallet, and you can withdraw them to your bank at any time. If the Organiser cancels, does not hold, or does not deliver what you paid for, this does not reduce any right you have under the law to recover the rest of the price from the Organiser (see 9.7).

9.2 Postponed or rescheduled events. If an event is postponed or rescheduled, your ticket remains valid for the new date unless the Organiser says otherwise. Whether you can get a refund instead is decided by the Organiser’s refund policy and applicable law.

9.3 Funds already withdrawn by the Organiser. Organisers may withdraw money credited to their ScoutSity wallet. ScoutSity is not responsible for refunding, and will not refund, any amount that has already been withdrawn by the Organiser. Once funds have been withdrawn, any claim for a refund of them must be made against the Organiser.

9.4 Funds not yet withdrawn. Where an event or competition is cancelled or not held, or ScoutSity reasonably suspects fraud, misrepresentation or that it will not be held, and money from it is still in the Organiser’s ScoutSity wallet, ScoutSity may — but is not obliged to — place that money on hold and use it to refund affected buyers, in whole or in part, following the Organiser’s refund policy or, if there is none, in proportion to what each buyer paid. Any such refund is paid from the Organiser’s funds, not ScoutSity’s. Doing this in one case does not oblige ScoutSity to do it in any other case.

9.5 No guarantee. ScoutSity does not guarantee that any event or competition will take place, take place as advertised, or that any Organiser will pay a refund it owes.

9.6 Help we can give. If an Organiser does not respond to a refund request, you may contact ScoutSity. We may, in line with our Privacy Policy, give you the Organiser’s contact details on record and cooperate reasonably with you, the police or a regulator. Doing so does not make ScoutSity liable for the refund.

9.7 Your statutory rights. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any right you have under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018 or any other law, to the extent that right cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

X.Arena — paid votes and competitions

10.1 Paid votes. A paid vote is a digital service that is fully delivered when the vote is counted. Once counted, a paid vote is final and is not refundable — including where a contestant withdraws or is disqualified, or the result is not the one you hoped for — unless the law requires otherwise.

10.2 Cancelled competitions. If a competition is cancelled, Section IX applies to any money paid for it: any refund is the Organiser’s responsibility, and ScoutSity is not responsible for amounts the Organiser has already withdrawn.

10.3 Results and judging. Rules, judging, scoring and results are set and run by the Organiser, who is solely responsible for them.

XI.Organiser obligations

11.1 Acceptance. By listing a Paid Item, accepting payments, or withdrawing funds on ScoutSity, you (the Organiser) accept this Section.

11.2 You are the seller. You are the seller of every Paid Item you list, and you are solely responsible for delivering it, for your refund policy, and for complying with consumer-protection and other applicable law.

11.3 Refund duty. If you cancel, fail to hold, or materially change an event or competition, you must promptly refund affected buyers as your refund policy and the law require. Withdrawing funds does not end this duty.

11.4 Holds and set-off. ScoutSity may withhold, delay or reverse a payout, or place funds in your wallet on hold, where reasonably necessary to deal with a cancellation, a report that an event or competition was not held, suspected fraud, a chargeback, or a legal or regulatory request. ScoutSity may set off any amount you owe it — including refunds it has paid on your behalf and chargebacks — against your wallet balance or your future earnings on ScoutSity.

11.5 Chargebacks. If a buyer obtains a reversal or chargeback of a payment for your Paid Item, ScoutSity may recover the amount and any related charges from your wallet balance or future earnings, or from you directly as a debt owed to ScoutSity.

11.6 Indemnity. You agree to indemnify ScoutSity, its founders, employees and agents against all claims, losses, liabilities, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your event or competition, its cancellation or change, your refund policy, any failure by you to pay a refund, or your breach of these Terms.

11.7 Accurate listings. You must describe your event or competition, its date, venue, price and refund policy accurately, and update them promptly if they change.

Changes to these Terms

ScoutSity may update these Terms. The version in force when you make a payment applies to that payment. Material changes will be shown on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
